I'm a self-taught artist specialized in portrait drawing. The section below consists of a small collection of studies and creative projects created using pencil, pen and/or digital painting.
Drawing of me and my dad.

Male study and process of photograph by Joao Carlos (westcottu.com/in-studio-with-joao-carlos) Used: Graphite range HB-8B, Mechanical pencil, Charcoal sticks, Tombow eraser, Mars Lumograph Black pencil, photoshop for mask. Used brushes and blending stamps. Process: Focused primarily on proportions, rough sketched the face. Sculpted the face by using shadows and lighting. The strands of hair were a challenge. I settled for drawing small random strands of hair and added shading or highlighting them to emphasize or deemphasize.

Study of a hand. Used Graphite: 4B & 7B (No blending tools)

Study of a foot. Used Graphite: 4B & 7B (No blending tools)

Interpretive drawing and process of photograph by GretaTu (deviantart.com/gretatu/art/raw-X-352582103) Used: Graphite range HB-8B, charcoal sticks and pencils, photoshop for pink lighting. No special blending techniques used. Process: First I roughly sketched out a face I liked then used photo as reference for pose and lighting. Focused on overall form and shadows.
